Factors Contributing to Late Physiotherapy Intervention of Children with Cerebral Palsy at The University Teaching Hospital, Lusaka in Zambia

Introduction: Cerebral palsy is the leading cause of disability worldwide and Zambia has its fair share cases. Most parents/caregivers children with at University Teaching Hospital started attending physiotherapy late when their were over one year Therefore, aim this study was to explore perceptions mothers towards factors contributing intervention Hospital. Furthermore, assess knowledge between 0-5 years on role in palsy. Methodology: An exploratory design using qualitative methods used. Data collection techniques FGDs that consisted purposively sampling 10 CP Audio-recording from transcribed verbatim for each session by an independent person. Results: This identified four influence Palsy These included: Socio-economic support; referral Physiotherapy; Caregiver’s about Palsy; People’s attitude Palsy.
